About Breast Enhancement
When it comes to breast enhancement techniques and procedures, what is necessary to accomplish a certain look or result may be vastly different than a patient’s requested procedure. For instance, many women may assume they want breast augmentation when a breast lift may actually give them better results. Dr. Peters works in partnership with each patient to determine her ideal final result and then helps her decide on the best procedure or combination of procedures to provide the final look she is after.
Almost every woman has something about her body that she would like to change. For many, that "something" is her breasts. Breast enhancement is a way to achieve your appearance goals, whether you wish to reduce large breasts, lift and firm your breasts, or increase your cup size. Dr. Peters has the experience, expertise, and skill to help you achieve the look you've always wanted.
How Can Breast Enhancement Improve Your Appearance?
We are proud to offer a number of different breast enhancement procedures at our Orlando plastic surgery office. Dr. Peters’ expert skill and artistry allow him to precisely contour and naturally transform the overall look and feel of your breasts.
Breast Augmentation
Augmentation, or enlargement, of the breasts, involves the placement of silicone or saline-filled implants or Gummy Bear implants to enhance breast shape and size or to correct proportion of the breasts after childbearing or significant weight loss. Dr. Peters’ goal for breast augmentation is always to create the most beautiful and natural look and result that stays within proportion to a woman’s body frame.
Breast Reduction
Breast reduction surgery is designed to relieve symptoms of “symptomatic hypermastia” or excessive breast size and weight. Breast reduction is often listed as the most satisfying plastic surgery procedure offered! As a result of surgery, the breasts are created to be more proportionate to the body frame, clothing fits better, women are able to take up a more physically active lifestyle, and self-confidence gets a boost. By its very nature, breast reduction surgery always includes a breast lift to give the breasts youthful perk and to further shape their appearance.
Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
Breast lift surgery, also known as mastopexy, contours the breasts by reconstructing the breast tissue, removing and repositioning loose breast skin, and moving the nipples and areolas to a higher, more aesthetically pleasing position. The goal of breast lift surgery is to create a lifted, more youthful breast shape.
Breast Lift with Implants
The surgical procedure in which breast augmentation is combined with a lift is called “mastopexy augmentation”. This procedure works to increase the breasts' volume as well as create a fuller, perkier bustline with increased projection. The nipples are moved to a higher placement on the breast, excess skin is removed, and an implant is inserted behind the breast tissue or chest muscle in order to fill out the breast for increased volume.
Gynecomastia
Gynecomastia, or the development of male breast tissue, can cause a man to feel embarrassed or self-conscious. Male breast reduction surgery involves the removal of surplus breast tissue and/or adipose tissue from the chest area to create a more smooth and natural male contour to the chest.
Breast Implant Removal
In some instances, women who have had breast augmentation surgery in the past become unhappy with the presence or size of their implants and decide to have them either removed or exchanged for implants of another size. Breast implant removal, like the original augmentation surgery, is a relatively simple procedure. Dr. Peters may decide to use the same incision sites created during the initial surgery so as to prevent any further scarring.
Breast Reconstruction
After breast cancer, the breasts can be reconstructed using breast implants or flap reconstruction with the body's own natural tissue. Most often, we utilize the nipple-sparing mastectomy technique. Implant-based reconstruction is usually done as a single procedure using a permanent breast implant that can be adjusted postoperatively. Flap reconstruction involves transplanting the body’s own tissue from the stomach or the inner thigh area to rebuild the breast, without the need for major muscle groups to suffer.
Am I A Good Candidate For Breast Enhancement?
Almost anyone wanting to change or improve the size, shape, and look of their breasts or chest shape may be a good candidate for breast enhancement procedures, so long as they are in overall good health. Those women who have had a major decrease in cup size after childbearing, breastfeeding, or losing weight and those who have experienced the effects of aging on the breasts may be good candidates, considering, once again, overall good health.
How Much Does Breast Enhancement Cost In Orlando?
The majority of breast enhancement procedures are considered elective procedures and, therefore, are not covered by medical insurance. Breast reconstruction surgery following a mastectomy, however, is generally considered a medically necessary procedure. To help make breast enhancement more accessible and affordable for all of his patients, Dr. Peters is proud to offer financing via CareCredit® as well as many flexible payment options including cash, personal check, and credit card.
