Chemical Peels
in Orlando, FL
What are Chemical Peels?
Chemical peels work on a variety of common skin concerns. The treatments take very little time but produce incredible results. Each type of chemical peel uses a specific combination of chemicals that are applied to the skin and allowed to remain in place for a specific amount of time. The basic types of chemical peels are:
- Light peels, the mildest type of chemical peel that removes a thin layer of skin.
- Medium peels that penetrate deeper and remove more skin.
- Deep peels are the most advanced type of chemical peels that remove several layers of skin.
Benefits of Chemical Peels
Our medical aesthetician will recommend a chemical peel that is best for your skin and cosmetic concerns, such as:
- Scars
- Acne
- Wrinkles
- Sun spots
The peels take very little time and can be used on the face and body.
Chemical Peels at CPRS Med Spa
Our chemical peels renew and rejuvenate the skin. The treatments can be combined with our facials for the ultimate skin rejuvenation.
The Swan Peel
The Swan Peel is a lactic acid peel derived from milk, they are very mild chemical peels with no downtime. Because lactic acid is a natural human metabolite, there is less chance of an allergic reaction with this type of peel. Therefore, they are a good choice for first-time peel users or for those with sensitive skin. However, dry or oily skin types can also use this peel and get good results. Lactic acid is especially good to use for mature skin.
The Eola Glycolic Peel
The Eola Glycolic Peel will soften and smooth skin, improve texture and tone, reduce sun spots and damage. This peel promotes the growth of new collagen beneath the skin, which adds volume to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.
The City Peel
A busy city can put years on the face with air pollutants collecting on the skin’s surface. This salicylic acid-based peel encourages the sloughing of dead skin cells. It is a safe and effective treatment for acne, oily skin, textural changes and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in most skin types. This peel helps avoid a polluted complexion by ridding the skin of irritants and free radicals.
The Tri-fecta Peel
This is a popular medium-depth Jessner Peel that works to improve skin health by helping remove and heal skin damage that is more extensive than regular “wear and tear.” This peel is stronger than most superficial chemical peels and therefore creates more temporary damage to the skin in the process. The Tri-fecta peel consists of three main ingredients: lactic acid (assists in the exfoliation of the skin), salicylic acid (aids in penetration), and resorcinol (assists in the treatment of acne).
The Illuminize Peel®
The Illuminize Peel® is a medical-grade chemical peel that delivers a nice “glow” to the skin immediately. The result is a quick glow without any peeling or downtime. This peel is ideal for individuals who want something more invasive than a facial but cannot have the downtime of peeling. This treatment results in a flawless finish.
The Vitalize Peel®
The Vitalize Peel® is the most popular SkinMedica® peel targeting anti-aging, melasma, sun damaged, and acne prone skin. It is appropriate for all Fitzpatrick skin types. It contains a proprietary blend of ingredients to help rejuvenate the skin. Achieve visible improvement after one treatment and optimal results after a series of treatments.
The Rejuvenate Peel®
The Rejuvenize Peel® by SkinMedica® penetrates deep into the surface layers of the skin and begins working almost instantly to deliver even, radical exfoliation and expose fresher, more beautiful looking skin. It is specially formulated to provide the most dramatic results possible while maintaining minimal downtime and discomfort. If you’ve been unable to remedy the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, minor blemishes, rough, sun-damaged skin or acne scars with past skin care treatments then a Rejuvenize Peel® treatment may be perfect for you!
How are Chemical Peels Administered?
Our medical aesthetician may provide you with certain skin care products that are to be used in the weeks before your chemical peel. If you have acne, we may provide a prescription-strength product for at-home use. Your skin is cleansed at the beginning of the treatment. Next, the chemical solution is applied to the skin and allowed to set and penetrate the skin. After a specific amount of time, a neutralizing solution is applied to the skin, and our aesthetician cleans the skin.
Are There Risks Associated with Chemical Peels?
Medium and deep peels should only be performed by an experienced physician or medical aesthetician. We will monitor your progress in the weeks after your chemical peel to ensure that your skin is healing properly.
Who Should Not Have a Chemical Peel?
Patients with certain medical conditions may not be good candidates for chemical peels. Our aesthetician will determine if a chemical is right for you during your personal consultation.
How Long Do the Results of a Chemical Peel Last?
The exfoliating effects of a light chemical peel last up to two months. With medium peels, you can repeat treatments every three to six months. Deep chemical peels provide longer lasting results, but cannot be repeated.
How Frequently Can I Have Chemical Peels?
You can have a light chemical peel every month. Medium peels can be repeated once or two times a year. Deep chemical peels cannot be repeated.
Can Chemical Peels Be Performed at Home?
The strength of the chemicals that we use for our chemical peels means that the treatments should only be performed by medical professionals.
