PRP For Skin Rejuvenation
in Orlando, FL

What is PRP?

Platelet Rich Plasma, also known as PRP or "The Vampire Facial," is a substance that promotes healing and tissue regeneration when injected or combined with microneedling. Plasma is a component of your blood that contains growth factors and stem cells, which contain unique proteins that support cellular growth and renewal as well as the production of collagen and elastin. After the blood is drawn, a centrifuge machine will spin down the blood to separate and isolate the plasma, which is then re incorporated into the aesthetic treatment.

What does the process entail?

The aesthetic provider applies a lidocaine-based topical numbing cream to enhance patient comfort. A small amount of blood is then drawn from a vein, then immediately taken to our state of the art centrifuge machine. It is then spun down for 5 minutes, during which time the plasma is separated from the rest of the blood. The plasma is then incorporated into the SkinPen® Microneedling treatment. It is very important to leave the plasma on the skin for 4-6 hours to receive the maximum benefits.

Is there downtime?

Following the procedure, you will experience some redness and slight irritation, akin to a sunburn. The redness typically dissipates over the course of 48-72 hours, and face makeup can be applied after 24 hours. The plasma helps to expedite the healing process, and most patients find that the PRP significantly reduces the irritation and redness because of the healing properties that your body's own growth factors and stem cells contain.

Platelet Rich Plasma For Hair Loss In Orlando:

In addition to the many skin rejuvenation benefits of platelet rich plasma (PRP), it is also used as a therapeutic treatment for hair loss including male patterned baldness, stress induced alopecia, or overall thinning of the hair. PRP therapy for hair loss is a 3-step treatment in which a person's blood is drawn, the plasma is isolated, and then injected into the scalp. Platelet rich plasma triggers natural hair growth and maintains it by increasing blood supply to the hair follicles, consequently increasing the thickness and strength of the hair shafts.

The Process:

PRP Hair Therapy is a three-step process. The therapy sessions require separate treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Maintenance treatments are required every 6-12 months.

During your appointment, your blood is drawn from a vein, and immediately put into our state of the art centrifuge machine where it is then spun down to isolate the plasma from the rest of the blood. The platelet rich plasma is then injected directly into the areas of the scalp where hair loss or thinning is apparent. Both men and women are candidates for this treatment, and there is minimal downtime after the procedure.

Following the injections, the patient may experience "pressure" that may feel similar to a mild headache. This will dissipate after 12-24 hours. The patient is told to avoid NSAID$ such as Motrin or Aleve, fish oil, vitamin E, alcohol, or anything else that might promote blood thinning on the day of the procedure.
